David Friend

David Friend is a serial entrepreneur and technology executive who has founded or co-founded six companies, including cloud storage provider Wasabi and cloud backup company Carbonite. His first venture, ARP Instruments, developed synthesizers used by artists including Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, and Led Zeppelin, as well as the iconic five-note sequence featured in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. A Yale graduate and former David Sarnoff Fellow at Princeton, David is also active in the arts and philanthropy, serving on the board of Berklee College of Music and as president of Boston Baroque.
